Our journey to becoming a Rights Respecting School

Last week, we had an assembly to introduce the next step on our journey to becoming a Rights Respecting School. During the assembly, we discussed the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. We have decided as a school to focus on two ‘rights’ each month. This month’s rights are Article 12 (you have the right to give your opinion, and for adults to listen and take it seriously) and Article 15 (you have the right to choose your own friends and join or set up groups, as long as it is not harmful to others). Our plan is for the children to regularly blog to keep you updated on our journey to becoming a Rights Respecting School.
