Updates from School Council

By Karen Spinks on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in British Values, Community, School Council. No Comments

Firstly, we would like to introduce ourselves. We were elected by our peers and held our first meeting in the middle of October.

Today, we met for the second time and were pleased to find out that we have been asked to be the school’s steering group for Rights Respecting School. For November, after much discussion, we have selected the following two articles to focus on:

Article 12, which states that all children have the right to give their opinion and for adults to listen and take it seriously.

Article 15, which states that all children have the right to choose their own friends, to join or set up groups so long as it isn’t harmful to others.

We will update you in November on more items, including school meals, procuring a Rights Respecting Ram mascot and what our curriculum focus will be.
