Year 5 visit to Kings Norton Boys’ School

Last week, year 5 attended 3 fantastic workshops at Kings Norton Boys’ School.

Our first session was crash course in archery where the children had the chance to use professional archery equipment. They particularly enjoyed using the skills they’d learned to pop as many balloons as they could in a mini competition.

In art, using a variety of images of African masks, the children designed their own masks using oil pastels. They learned a variety of techniques to improve their colouring and blending skills, and created beautiful, bold and colourful masks to take home.

Finally, the children became detectives in an effort to solve an ancient murder. They used a range of clues to build up detailed crime boards to help them solve the mystery.

A huge thank you to staff at KNBS for hosting us, and to the parents who accompanied us to the school. A fantastic time was had by all.
