Year 5’s Creative Commonwealth Day

This week, we have been learning about the Commonwealth as part of our celebration of the Royal Wedding.  This has also helped to build our understanding of the responsibilities that both the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be holding within the Commonwealth.  We have researched different countries within the Commmonwealth and compared their values to our own British values.

Today, we chose to focus on India. We have learnt about India, its people and its landmarks.  Later, we set up a carousel of activities, where the children designed their own Rangoli art, performed Bhangra dance moves and produced a piece of music using a range of drums.

We have had a wonderful day of learning.
